A passion that became a profession
My name is Thomas Lérat. For more than eight years photography has been my profession and my reason for being: capture the moment, keep the feeling.
It started with a simple passion, keeping a trace of the moments that matter. One photograph after another, that passion turned into a calling. Today I spend my time telling, in images, the stories of the people who trust me with them.
My approach is natural and deeply emotional. I do not direct, I watch. I look for the honest glance, the spontaneous gesture, the laugh that bursts out. I particularly enjoy putting children and teenagers at ease often the hardest to photograph: with patience and a bit of complicity, I let what is real come through.
Based in Salins-Fontaine in Savoie, I travel throughout the 3 Vallées and anywhere in France, to be as close as possible to the moments that matter to you.

My approach
Simple, careful, made to measure
I believe a good photograph comes out of an encounter, not a staging. That is why I favour simplicity: few instructions, a lot of listening. Every commission is built to measure, adjusted to your story, your setting and your sensibility without ever giving up the care that makes the difference on images you will keep for a lifetime.
Retouching, in the service of your image
My retouching stays faithful to reality. I work the light, the contrast and the colour to bring out the best of each frame, without ever distorting what is true. You will still be yourself, in your best version, not someone else.
Publishing your images: if you say yes → I choose carefully which images are published. If you say no → nothing is published, no questions asked. Your decision is always respected.
